Liz
qualified in 1997, becoming a chartered and state
registered physiotherapist. She gained general experience
at the University Hospitals of Wales and then Southampton
University Hospitals NHS trust before specialising in
Neurological rehabilitation.
For
the past 6 years she has worked for the Wolverhampton
community trust where she has worked in all areas of
neurological rehab including outpatients which has enabled
her to treat a wide and varied caseload of conditions
including Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Head
Injury and Peripheral Neuropathy which are just some of
the examples. Liz also developed a community service for
patients in the community with neurological deficit.
She
currently specialises in stroke rehabilitation and uses a
variety of treatment techniques to best suit individual
need. She is trained in the Bobath concept, which aims to
restore function and regain normal movement in the
neurologically impaired. The Bobath concept is widely
accepted as the front line treatment for stroke victims
In 2004 Liz
helped in the development of the SB Sports Injury &
Physiotherapy Clinic and has continued to assess and
rehabilitate patients in the community through the clinic.
